Brief Summary of Priorities
In 2010, Komen SF Bay Area began a process to determine unmet needs for breast health/breast cancer services our service area. As a result of the community needs assessment, we have determined the following priorities for our 2012-2013 grant cycle. Please note that the following is not exclusive and the list order does not reflect level of significance or funding allocations:
· Reduce barriers to screening and treatment
· Reduce language and cultural barriers to screening and treatment for monolingual immigrant populations, and
· Reduce late stage breast cancer diagnosis and mortality rates for Latinas, African American, and API women in the four target counties: Alameda, Contra Costa, Santa Clara, and San Francisco
Applications are accepted annually for breast health and/or breast cancer education, screening, and treatment/treatment support programs. Click here for details on how to apply.
